Cooper Filipek wins the Bareback title

Cooper Filipek – Bareback Finals Winner

With Ozzy Osbourne blasting through Jamie Rogers Arena and the crowd on its feet, Cooper Filipek delivered the kind of ride that has quickly made him "one of the most exciting young cowboys in the game." The reigning college champion exploded out of the J-Bones Welding chute aboard 429 Perlich Bros Lawless and matched the horse jump for jump in his signature yellow gear, posting an unbeatable 89-point ride to capture the 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo Bareback Riding championship, a $25,000 payday, and a set of Cloverdale Rodeo spurs.

Layton Green runs the table three-for-three

Layton Green – Saddle Bronc Finals Winner

After dominating both go-rounds in Pool A, Layton Green entered Monday's Saddle Bronc Finals as the man everyone was chasing. When the draw revealed he would ride 476 Double Red, the same horse ridden by both the 2024 and 2025 Cloverdale champions, anticipation surged through the arena. Riding in the eighth and final position out of the B&B Contracting chute, Green delivered under pressure with a spectacular 90.5-point ride that brought the crowd roaring to its feet and secured the championship.

Sloan McFarlane blazes a 15.74 in her first trip to Canada

Sloan McFarlane – Barrel Racing Finals Winner

In her very first trip to Canada, Sloan McFarlane made sure the Cloverdale Rodeo crowd would remember her name. Drawing the second run of the Finals, McFarlane laid down a blazing 15.74-second pattern that proved untouchable for the remainder of the competition, earning her the 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo Barrel Racing championship, a $25,000 payday, and a set of Cloverdale Rodeo spurs. Brooke Wills placed second with a 16.13-second run, while Vanessa Leggett rounded out the top three.

Jake Gardner closes the weekend with the most anticipated ride

Jake Gardner – Bull Riding Finals Winner

In the final ride of the entire 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo, fans witnessed what rodeo announcer Brett Gardner called "the most anticipated ride of the weekend." Three-time Canadian Champion and current world number three Jacob Gardner finally matched up with 731 Alberta Prime Devils Advocate in a showdown that had been circled as soon as it was announced. When the Alberta Premium chute gate swung open, the arena erupted as cowboy and bull battled through eight seconds of back-and-forth action.
