- Public Roller Skating – Gather your family and friends for a fun-filled session of public roller skating. Glide around the arena, enjoy the freedom of the open floor, and soak in the lively atmosphere—perfect for skaters of all ages and skill levels!
- Roller Derby – Greater Vancouver Roller Derby Association is thrilled to bring the fast-paced and hard-hitting fun that is the sport of flat track roller derby to the rodeo this year. A guaranteed entertaining and unique experience you will not want to miss!
Note: Skate rentals are by donation and all proceeds support the Storehouse Society.

Roller Derby 101
Roller Derby 101
Roller derby is a dynamic, fast-paced sport that includes strategy and fierce competition. Modern derby is played on a flat oval track with two teams of five skaters each, who compete to score points. The Jammers wear a star helmet cover, and they work to skate past opposing players while navigating through other team's blockers. Each opposing blocker they pass is worth 1 point.
The game is fast and intense, as the skaters use their bodies block, hold, hit, and juke around opponents. Derby includes a high degree of strategy, as teams focusing on both offense (helping their jammer break through the pack to score points) and defense (holding and stopping the opposing jammer) at the same time.
Roller Derby is full of empowerment and inclusivity, and is known for its community and culture, with a commitment to being accessible to everyone.
